Nergasm Alert - FFVII Technical Demo

On May 16th, 2005, thousands of fanboys and girls watched in awe as the Final Fantasy VII: Technical Demonstration for PS3 was released. Thinking that it would undoubtedly spawn a remake of the classic RPG on the latest console, many fans were disappointed when the rumors were squashed by Square Enix’s many direct denials. All may not be utterly lost, however.
Though Square has been denying rumors of an FFVII remake for the past three years, I wouldn’t cross it off of your wish-list just yet. In a September 2007 article on IGN.com, FF producer Hideki Imaizumi stated that while the company is devoting all of their resources and energy to the three XIII games, there are no plans to work on anything else, namely a PS3 remake of FFVII. That said, with the first game of the Fabula Nova Crystallis Project being released sometime in the coming year, Square Enix is certainly going to start running out of excuses. Demand from fans is astronomical for a remake of the PSone classic that rocketed the Final Fantasy franchise into the mainstream, and by George, I think we deserve it.
