Gametrailers Makes Sense of Zelda Games

Gametrailers puts out some really great documentaries on Video Games. They put together a huge series looking back on Final Fantasy, Metroid, and Legend of Zelda among various games. In these retrospectives, they take a look at all the various games in the series and talk about their greater contributions to gaming in general. They’re all thoroughly entertaining and incredibly well done.

I haven’t played all the Zelda games but I’ve played a few. I never questioned how they fit together, I guess I just kind of assumed they were all separate stories that just used the same characters. Turns out there are many theories out there as to how exactly they fit together, and Gametrailers has taken the time to tack on an extra episode to their Legend of Zelda retrospective to explain to us how exactly they do fit together. Watch the video, it’s really well done, and be prepared to have your mind blown. Keep in mind though, that this is their theory, and it has no official confirmation from Nintendo or the creators of the Legend of Zelda. It’s also a little lengthy, about 12 minutes. Totally worth it though:
